ABOUT YOUR TUTOR
Bonjour !
My name is Julien, I am a certified french teacher (French Institute Alliance Française).
I have been teaching French for more than 8 years in many different structures (universities, high schools, companies, banks, administrations, etc...) in many countries with students from all around the world.
Based on my experience studying languages, my studies in education and the ALTER EGO method, I have developed an approach at teaching languages that is focused on developing oral skills and aims at increasing fluency. Through conversation, I help my students gain confidence and speak creatively with the vocabulary they know.
This personalized approach makes the lesson rich in content, and much more engaging for the student. A motivated and committed student is sure to improve fluency and gain confidence.
THE COURSES
The courses are tailored to complete beginners as well as very advanced speakers to get you to speak the way real people speak in modern France. The custom content of the courses is a mix of grammar lessons and fun activities - always with a little bit of homework to get you to practice in between classes.
ABSOLUTE BEGINNER
In this course you will:

Learn how to form important verbs.

Talk about daily routine.

Describe people you know and things that you have.

Understand how to give personal information.
-
Study everyday expressions and understand when they are used by other people.

Communicate things you might need in simple day-to-day situations.
INTERMEDIATE
This course will take place 100% in French.
In this course you will:

Develop greater control of Frenh grammar, including more sophisticated areas like "subjonctif présent".

Express and understand key information about typical situations such as work, school or leisure.

Describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions.

Give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

Practise forming connected text on topics of personal interest.

Increase your vocabulary to cover subjects such as holidays, people in your life and food.
ADVANCED
This course will take place 100% in French.
In this course you will:

Understand a wide range of demanding French texts and recognise implicit meanings.

Develop the skills to express yourself fluently and spontaneously in French without much obvious searching for expressions.

Practise how to use French flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes.

Learn how to produce detailed texts which use sophisticated organisational structures.

Study subjects such as sport, money, the arts and time.
-
Focus on technical issues, for example, adding emphasis and hypothetical meaning.
FRENCH FOR CHILDREN
This course is dedicated to children from 6 to 12 years old.
Each session will follows a simple structure that your child will feel confident with : greeting, new vocabulary and some grammar points, games to synthesize the previous points.
I recommend 30 minutes sessions for kids from 6 years old to 9 and 45 minutes sessions for 10-12 year-old children.
BEGINNER
In this course you will:

Study and practise the main verb tenses.

Use functional expressions in French.

Explain your ideas in the past, present and future.

Talk about familiar matters such as personal and family information.

Describe topics like shopping and local geography.

Communicate your employment and work experience.
